Netflix acquires Ben Affleck's Ai startup InterPositive with 600 mln
The company launched an artificial intelligence tool for use in film post-production
Netflix has bought the Ai start-up of the actor Ben Affleck for $600 million, several US media outlets report. It is InterPositive, a film technology company founded by the actor in 2022, which develops artificial intelligence tools to improve post-production, correcting continuity, lighting and environments.
With the acquisition, the company's entire team of 16 people, including engineers, researchers and creatives, will join the large Netflix family. Affleck, on the other hand, will have the role of consultant. News of the deal follows just a few days after the streaming giant's backtracking in its purchase of Warner Bros, a deal in which Paramount SkyDance won Paramount SkyDance. As Affleck explained, InterPositive was created with the aim of exploring the impact of artificial intelligence on the future of cinema and not with the aim of replacing actors with digital creations.
