Clients of Fideuram and Intesa Sanpaolo Private Banking who have the right investment profile have been able to diversify into the world of venture capital for a few weeks now. This innovative solution has been developed by Neva Sgr, the Intesa Sanpaolo Group's venture capital company wholly owned by Intesa Sanpaolo Innovation Center, through the Neva II fund on the iCapital platform.
Thus, private individuals with a suitable profile (professional clients) and higher time margins who wish to diversify their investments will also be able to invest in this new asset class, alongside institutional investors.
The customer approach
we have done a great deal of work with wealth management and advisory structures to explain well and in detail this asset class, which in Italy does not yet have the notoriety found in other countries," emphasises Neva Sgr chairman Luca Remmert, "and its high potential. Thanks to quality allocation choices and an appropriate investment horizon, venture capital can give great satisfaction, but it is crucial and necessary that investors are always aware of the choices they make and the risks they run. Through careful portfolio selection, with Neva II we offer potentially profitable investments in highly innovative Italian and foreign companies committed to solving the planet's major problems, from alternative energy sources to biotechnology in the medical field, from digital to aerospace.
The Development
"Only four years after the launch of the first Neva First fund, we have already remunerated the subscribers,' says Remmert, 'thanks to the valorisation of the exit from the capital of the company Cyberint, after its acquisition by Check Point. The exit contributed about 7 per cent of the call to investors, a very good result for a venture capital fund in such a short time. And right now Neva is preparing for a further transaction that will soon bring the percentage into double figures.
From a spa dedicated to the Group's investments in open innovation, in 2020 Neva transformed into an sgr 'developing the role of facilitator in creating links between Italian entrepreneurs and the global venture capital network,' Remmert adds, 'and facilitating the entry of international investors into the Italian industrial and scientific ecosystem, in short creating bridges that transform ideas into global opportunities.
