New Audi A3: the new hi-tech dashboard makes its debut
The fourth generation makes no changes to the exterior or the body styles, but focuses on the interior, where the Digital Stage – the same as that found in the brand’s higher-end models – makes its debut.
Audi is revamping the A3 thirty years after its market launch. The fourth generation, however, does not change the exterior or the body styles – Sportback, Saloon and Allstreet – but simply introduces a new dashboard, the Digital Stage, into the cabin, inherited from the brand’s higher-end models. The engine range remains unchanged: diesel, petrol (including mild hybrid) and plug-in hybrid with a 100 km electric range. The sporty S3 and RS3 models have also been confirmed, with power outputs ranging from 333 to 400 cv.
The interior has been completely revamped with the new dashboard
First introduced by Audi on the Q6 e-tron, the Digital Stage – the large curved screen – combines the 11.9-inch instrument cluster and the 12.8-inch infotainment display with the graphics and operating system introduced on the new Q3. The facelift also brings a new centre console layout featuring a dedicated 25-watt smartphone charging pad, whilst the steering wheel remains a three-spoke design with physical buttons – no longer touch-sensitive. A new suite of ADAS features is planned, including Level 2 driver assistance.
