New Fisi national headquarters inaugurated in Milan
The Italian Winter Sports Federation (FISI) takes up residence in Milan. The works to be completed in the coming months have been financed by the Lombardy Region with 2.8 million
A few weeks before the start of Milan Cortina 2026, the new national headquarters of the Italian Winter Sports Federation (FISI) was inaugurated in the Aler building in Via Costa in Milan. The ribbon-cutting ceremony marked the handover of the first upgraded pavilion, allowing Fisi to settle in the new headquarters.
In the coming months, work on the entire building, financed by the Lombardy Region with an allocation of EUR 2.8 million, will be completed. The project envisages work to ensure the safety, efficiency and full usability of the building. 'The inauguration of this new headquarters,' said the President of the Lombardy Region, Attilio Fontana, 'represents an important step in the path of investment in the legacy of the Olympics and an example of positive synergy between institutions. It is right that the Fisi headquarters will remain in Milan, confirming Lombardy's leading role in winter sports'.
The building has two floors of approximately 500 square metres each, plus a basement. "This intervention," said Regional Councillor for Housing Paolo Franco, "demonstrates Lombardy's ability to transform urban regeneration into an opportunity for social and territorial growth, and also contributes to strengthening the area's housing mix, an essential element for promoting balanced, attractive neighbourhoods capable of offering different services to the community.
In addition to Fisi president Flavio Roda, the event was also attended, among others, by the Sports Councillor of the Municipality of Milan, Martina Riva, the president of Aler Milano, Alan Rizzi, and the president of Coni Lombardia, Marco Riva.
