New Mercedes S-Class, a revolution announced for the top of the range
The Stuttgart brand's flagship, which will make its official debut on 29 January, offers the biggest restyling ever with more than half of the components being new or updated.
Mercedes is off to a great start in 2026. After the Car of the Year award given to the CLA, the restyling of the brand's flagship S-Class will be unveiled on 29 January. According to the first leaked information, this will be a real change of gear for the star's flagship model, which will change or update even more than half of the components currently used for the S.
Some 2,700 new features will be announced for the new S
A total of around 2,700 parts will be either brand new or just updated. Which means that more than half of the S-Class has been redesigned for the second half of the brand's iconic car's life cycle. Ahead of the world premiere scheduled for the end of January, the new S is still partly hiding its new appearance under a very dramatic camouflage.
The iconic logo could echo that of recent models
Mercedes has deliberately hidden the iconic three-dot logo, at least for the time being, as well as the new headlights at the front and rear. In fact, the new S will probably be inspired by other more recent models of the brand, which not surprisingly integrate the iconic logo directly into the lighting elements arranged at both ends of the car. It will be on the 29th.
The range will be all electrified and updated in fuel consumption
Although not all details have been announced yet, including especially those under the bonnet, it has been leaked that the range of both petrol and diesel will be all electrified, while the plug-in hybrid version will be able to guarantee a range of 100 km in electric mode. But details such as suspension as well as driving dynamics will also change.
The new Mercedes S will raise the bar to the highest level
Production of the revamped S-Class has already been scheduled for 2026 at the star brand's historic factory in Sinferfingen. With the current model finally able to offer a whole host of new features for a model that has been at the centre of innovation for 140 years, as can be seen on the camouflage, the star brand is raising the bar to the highest level.
