More glimpses of summer at festivals, with music scenes that let us discover the richness of the landscape. Like Lake Maggiore, with Stresa and the Borromean Islands, epicentre of the glorious Festival, or like the Dolomites, with the 30th I Suoni delle Dolomiti.

Stresa (NO)

Until 6 September in Stresa and other locations around Lake Maggiore is the 64th edition of the Festival, in an interplay of environmental and musical reflections that correspond to the sound archipelago of the programme. Big conclusion on the 6th at the Stresa Festival Hall with one of the major orchestras, the London Symphony with its principal conductor Antonio Pappano. On the programme are Schumann's Concerto for Cello and Orchestra, in the re-orchestration that Šostakovič created for Rostropovic, with a soloist such as Mario Brunello on cello; Šostakovič's Symphony No. 9 and Beethoven's Symphony No. 5.

For 30 years, Sounds of the Dolomites has maintained the same vision and values, which are based on the idea that music should not be separated from nature, but should merge with it, making the mountain itself the protagonist. Each event is an encounter between the art of music and the landscape, where the Dolomites become an element that enriches the experience, creating a unique atmosphere. The value of silence is central: in the Dolomites, silence is a space for deep listening, allowing one to enter into harmony with the music and the surrounding nature. The festival is not just a series of concerts, but a journey, in which the audience walks the paths of the mountains, experiencing physical exertion and connection with the environment. The music, natural and pure, is not artificially amplified, but resonates in the landscape, creating a unique resonance. I Suoni delle Dolomiti is, finally, a sharing experience, where artists and audience walk and live together.
