Simona Del Re co-opted to the board of directors and appointed chairman of the luxury yachting company

New chairman for The Italian Sea Group (Tisg), a shipyard specialising in the luxury nautical sector with the Admiral, Tecnomar, Perini Navi and Picchiotti brands. The company's board of directors, following Filippo Menchelli's resignation (announced on 7 June 2024) and Massimo Bianchi's unwillingness to take up the post, has resolved to co-opt Simona Del Re onto the board, appointing her as company president until the next shareholders' meeting.
In a note, the group points out that Del Re, 'a professional with an international profile, has 20 years' experience in the luxury sector - from fashion to luxury retail to yachting - having held managerial positions of increasing responsibility for prestigious global brands'.
From fashion to yachting
.Del Re, a graduate in Business Administration from the Bocconi University of Milan, has a managerial curriculum acquired in Italian and international fashion companies, including the Marzotto Group. She was also corporate communications manager at Gucci and strategic communications director for the Lane Crawford Joyce Group, an Asian high-end fashion retail group based in Hong Kong. In 2018 Del Re moved into the marine industry, taking up the position of communication and branding manager for Perini Navi.
Menchelli stays with the company
.As for the outgoing chairman Menchelli, the note explains, he will retain his role as chief business officer of the company, 'with an even greater focus on the strategic and technical activities that he has managed to date and which, due to the significant growth the group has experienced in recent years, will require even greater dedication'.
The CEO, Giovanni Costantino, and the company's board of directors, moreover, 'sincerely thank Menchelli for his fruitful activity in his role as member and chairman of the board of directors'.
