New York Times: 'Musk met the Iranian ambassador to the UN on Monday'

Iranian sources in the New York Times, who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorised to discuss politics publicly, described the meeting as 'positive' and a harbinger of 'good news'

Elon Musk met Monday in New York with the Iranian ambassador to the United Nations in what two Iranian officials described as a discussion on how to decrease tensions between Tehran and the United States. The New York Times reported this, reporting that the meeting between Musk - recently head of the "Doge" department, the structure Trump wanted to redesign the US bureaucracy - and Ambassador Amir Saeid Iravani lasted more than an hour and was held at a secret location.

Asked whether there had been such a meeting, Steven Cheung, Donald Trump's communications director, said: 'We do not comment on reports of private meetings, whether they have occurred or not.

Elon Musk did not respond to a request for comment made by reporters from the American newspaper.
