Nexi: revenue up 1.1 per cent to 2.68 billion in the first nine months; 2026 targets confirmed
EBITDA remained stable at 1.4 billion; results in line with expectations
(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Nexi has closed the first nine months of 2026 in line with expectations, with revenue of 2.678 billion, up 1.1 per cent on the previous year. EBITDA remained stable at 1.4 billion (+0.3%), “thanks to robust cost discipline”, with an EBITDA margin of 52.3 per cent, exceeding the consensus estimate (51.8 per cent). The payments group announced this in a statement, highlighting that growth is being driven by a “re-acceleration” in revenue from merchant solutions. Furthermore, “growth in underlying revenue (excluding the now-known loss of certain banking clients following M&A transactions, mainly in Italia, and other one-off items) stood at 4 per cent year-on-year for both the nine-month period and the third quarter”. In the July–September period, revenue stood at 942 million (+1.3 per cent) with EBITDA of 530 million (+0.6 per cent) and an EBITDA margin of 56.3 per cent. The net operating financial position at the end of September stood at approximately 5 billion, whilst the net operating financial position/EBITDA fell to 2.6 times (2.4x excluding the dividend distribution in May 2026 and the completion of the transaction with Banca Popolare di Sondrio in April 2026).
For 2026, Nexi confirms its guidance, which forecasts annual growth in net revenue broadly in line with 2025, with the merchant solutions division regaining momentum; EBITDA, in absolute terms, is expected to remain broadly stable following strategic investments; excess cash generation is projected at approximately 750 million, after strategic investments and higher taxes. The group also expects to pay a dividend of €0.30 per share, amounting to approximately €350 million in dividends, and is committed to maintaining its investment-grade status.
