Next Yacht steps up its focus on metal superyachts, having acquired 100 per cent of Siman
The subsidiary of Continental Investments has a 20 million plan, of which 11 has already been invested, to boost production
Next Yacht Group is expanding: the company has announced the incorporation of Siman, a long-established firm specialising in metalworking and mechanical engineering for the marine sector, into the yachting group, following the acquisition of 100 per cent of the company’s share capital, completed by Continental Investments (owned by the entrepreneur Stefano Nesti, who also controls Next Yacht).
According to a statement, the operation was launched in November 2025 and involves €20 million in new funding – of which €11 million has already been invested – for the operational and industrial revitalisation of Siman, as part of a plan aimed at strengthening production, modernising facilities and achieving full corporate profitability by the end of 2027. The statement clarifies that the integration “will enable Next Yacht to expand its production capacity through its industrial sites in La Spezia and Pisa and to develop a new division dedicated to metal superyachts, thereby strengthening its direct control over the production chain, which is entirely ‘Made in Italy’”.
Founded in 1988, Siman specialises, as mentioned, in mechanical engineering, propulsion systems, and refit and maintenance work on yachts up to 60 metres in length. The company also operates in the commercial shipbuilding and defence sectors, with a portfolio of ongoing contracts including work for the Italian Navy. New steel-hulled vessels are already in the design phase for Maiora and Ab Yachts (both Next brands), whilst a 50-metre Maiora is currently under construction. The company has announced that the first designs will be unveiled by the end of 2026.
“The acquisition of Siman,” points out Mario Petroni, chairman of Next Yacht, “represents a natural evolution of our industrial journey. This transaction expands our production capacity in the strategic metal construction sector and strengthens a highly specialised Italian industrial supply chain, whilst at the same time creating new opportunities for growth and employment.”
