Nexture strengthens its position in the Middle East with the acquisition of La Crema
The Dubai-based company, which specialises in the production of chocolate and value-added food ingredients for ice cream, bakery products and fine patisserie, has joined the group owned by Investindustrial
Nexture, a group specialising in the development and production of high-quality food ingredients and value-added solutions, controlled by Investindustrial, has signed an agreement for the acquisition of La Crema, a Dubai-based company specialising in the production of chocolate and value-added food ingredients for ice cream, bakery products and fine patisserie.
The acquisition will enable Nexture – the company states – “to expand its commercial presence in a region that is strategic for the Group’s growth, characterised by a broad and expanding ingredients segment”.
Based in the United Arab Emirates, La Crema was founded by Bilal Khalife in 2016 as a commercial enterprise serving the HoReCa sector (out-of-home consumption). In 2018, the company began in-house production, whilst maintaining a sales network comprising wholesalers, distributors and large-scale retailers.
“This acquisition represents an important step in Nexture’s international growth strategy and will enable us to establish our first manufacturing presence in the Middle East,” said Nexture’s CEO, Valerie-Diele Braun – and to gain direct access to one of the most dynamic sectors of the global ingredients industry.”
According to a statement, the completion of the transaction is subject to the customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals, and is currently expected by the end of 2026.
