With a shortage of buses for pupils, a secondary school in Treviso has cut lessons by 20 minutes

Twenty minutes less of lessons per day. This is the measure adopted by the Duca degli Abruzzi secondary school in Treviso to address the shortage of buses taking pupils from home to school and back at two of the school’s branches. This is reported by *Il Gazzettino* in its Treviso section. The decision comes as a result of the impossibility of increasing the number of shuttle buses due to the limited space in the car park at the San Pelajo branches. Consequently, from today, pupils will have twenty minutes fewer lessons per day, with the first and sixth periods lasting 50 minutes instead of 60.

As Headteacher Francesca Magnano explains in the circular sent to families and pupils, in accordance with the guidelines issued by MOM, the Treviso transport company, “pupils may not arrive before 8.00 am and, at the end of the sixth period, may not leave after 1.40 pm, for both safety and logistical reasons. The school – the circular states – remains open to monitoring the situation over the coming months and assessing any necessary changes based on any issues that may arise, supported by objective and documented evidence”.
