Mef appointments: confirmations at Eni and Enel, novelties at the top management of Leonardo and Enav

Surprisingly, Giuseppina Di Foggia has been nominated as group chairman. She is stepping down from her position as CEO of Terna, whose top management, however, has not yet been resolved (however, there is time to file lists until 17 April).

For Enel, however, no changes in the most important boxes. CEO Flavio Cattaneo is preparing to begin his second term in office after an initial three-year period that began in April 2023 and that saw the manager put in place a strong recovery and recovery plan, resulting in the group reaching a record 100 billion capitalisation, confirming it as the third largest energy utility in the world after the American Nextera and the Spanish Iberdrola.

A result that the management aims to consolidate further, also thanks to a EUR 53 billion investment plan from now until 2028 with a greater focus on foreign markets and, in particular, the United States. A clear path of growth, therefore, which has in fact also secured the chair ofPaolo Scaroni for a second term as chairman.

The news, however, concerns Leonardo and Enav. On the first front, the solution devised after the decision to replace CEO Roberto Cingolani is to appoint Lorenzo Mariani, currently managing director of Mbda Italia and executive group director Sales & Business Development Mbda, but with a long history at the former Finmeccanica, as the new company head.

Cingolani's exit, however, unsettled the market and caused more than a few jolts in the share price, which lost ground to coincide with the first rumours about the willingness to replace the CEO.

However, the now outgoing CEO leaves behind a group in excellent health, having contributed in three years to a 35% increase in revenues and orders and to transforming the company financially, thanks to improved cash generation and a sharply reduced debt that is now under control, with a market capitalisation that has grown by almost eight times the level of the group before his tenure began.

The last boxes filled concern Enav where, as mentioned, the new duo at the helm is Sandro Pappalardo as president and Igor de Biasio as CEO.
