Mef appointments: confirmations at Eni and Enel, novelties at the top management of Leonardo and Enav
Mef confirms Descalzi and Cattaneo for Eni and Enel, Mariani will be ad Leonardo
Fifth term at the helm of Eni for Claudio Descalzi, with the ceo of Terna, Giuseppina Di Foggia, becoming the group's new chairman. Confirmation en bloc for the tandem at the helm of Enel, chairman Paolo Scaroni and CEO Flavio Cattaneo.
While for Leonardo everything changes. For the aerospace and defence bigwig in the race for the top position, the solution that leads to Lorenzo Mariani as the new CEO, flanked by Francesco Macrì as the new chairman, prevails in the Caesarini zone.
Along with the three big names, there are also the names for the renewal of the top management of Enav, where outgoing CEO Pasqualino Monti - whom many believe will take the helm of Terna - is being replaced by Igor de Biasio, current chairman of the electricity grid operator, with Sandro Pappalardo, now chairman of Ita Airways, in the post of president.
This is the outcome of the round of appointments churned out by the Ministry of the Economy and marked by several confirmations, but also by a decisive break for some of the boxes at stake.
The line of continuity prevails in the two energy groups, starting with Eni, where Claudio Descalzi secures a new three-year term at the helm and will thus be able to continue implementing his strategy of strengthening the group, which he took the helm of in May 2014 when, due to the combined effect of the shale oil revolution and the battle for market share by Saudi Arabia, the oil price collapsed to halve its value.
