North East companies and young talent meet at Talent Week
Aim to make the area attractive for those seeking a rewarding life and career project - Until 3 April
Key points
On Monday 30 March, the first official day of Talent Week 2026 was held in Verona. Organised by the Chamber of Commerce of Padua, the Chamber of Commerce of Venice Rovigo, and the Chamber of Commerce of Verona with the organisational support of Venicepromex, the contribution of Fondazione Cariverona, Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Padova e Rovigo, and in collaboration with UniCredit, it was included in the regional programme for the promotion of major events of the Veneto Region. The common objective is to network in order to make the territory and businesses of the North-East attractive to young people, who are increasingly seeking a life and career project that is rewarding from both an economic and a value perspective.
The context
According to the latest unpublished data from Unioncamere's Excelsior Information System, in Veneto in 2025 companies reported a recruitment difficulty affecting 51.5% of planned hirings, compared to a national figure of 47% and a North-East figure of 51.6%. In 2024 the same indicator at regional level was 51%, and in 2023 the figure was 50%: a trend that shows no sign of stopping.
The regional sectors with the greatest difficulty in finding jobs are construction (with 70% of the job profiles difficult to find), health, social work and private health services (67%), metal and metal products industries (65%), public utilities (63%), and paper, papermaking and printing industries (59%). Restricting the field to young people under the age of 30, the most difficult figures to find are: specialised construction finishing workers (81%), blacksmiths toolmakers (79%), mechanics (78%), workers specialised in the installation of electrical equipment (75%), workers in automatic metal processing machines (74%).
The question
In 2025 the demand for labour planned in Veneto by companies in the primary, industrial and service sectors remains at high levels, with 525,550 expected entries and 65% of companies with employees to hire. The share of young people up to the age of 30 involved in employment flows stands at 30% (with the national figure standing at 27%).
