Not only Vannacci, Sardone new deputy secretary of the League: record-woman of preferences, here's who she is

Not only General Roberto Vannacci. The Lega Nord Federal Council has appointed a woman as deputy secretary, Silvia Sardone, a 'record-woman' in terms of preferences. And now the first female deputy secretary of the party in Via Bellerio.

Milanese, born in 1982, two children, 'bocconiana', labour lawyer, MEP from 2019 and chosen by the secretary Matteo Salvini, Sardone began her political activity with Forza Italia, elected in 2006 to the Milan zone 2 council, where she remained until 2016, when she joined the city council (she obtained 2,319 votes with the Azzurri). In 2018, she was elected to the regional council of Lombardy with 11,312 preferences, making her the second highest vote-getter in Lombardy and the first woman voted for. In the summer of 2018 she left Forza Italia. In the 2019 European elections, she stood as a candidate with the Lega in the North-West constituency: she was elected with almost 45,000 votes. She joined the Identità e Democrazia group and became group coordinator in the European Parliament's Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety and of the delegation to the ACP-EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly. In 2021 at the Milan municipal elections, with 3 580 preferences in the Lega, she was the most voted candidate in the centre-right coalition. From the end of November 2022 to the end of June 2023, he is commissioner of the Lega for the province of Milan.

In the European elections of 2024 she was the League's chief candidate in the north-west constituency. With more than 75,000 preferences collected, she was re-elected as second behind Vannacci, making her the most voted female Lega candidate ever.

Coordinator of the Patriots in the Envi Committee in Brussels, attacked the green deal promoted by the European Commission. "Europe," she stressed, "continues to want to destroy the car industry. On Monday 12 May, commenting on the presidium promoted by the German association Awo International, he wrote in a note: 'Today the square in front of the European Parliament in Brussels looks like a social centre for an immigrationist initiative' with 'a hundred or so "art installations" represented by boats with a clear pro-accommodation message'.
