US: number of active oil rigs up by 1 to 456

(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - The number of active oil rigs in the United States rose slightly last week. According to the Baker Hughes report, there were 456 active rigs over the past seven days, one more than the previous week. This figure is a far cry from the peak of 1,609 reached in October 2014, but is still a long way from the low of 172 recorded during the coronavirus pandemic. At the start of March 2020, before the crisis caused by Covid-19, there were 682 active rigs.
