On the shores of Lake Como with the French businessman Pascal Cagni
He has bought a 19th-century villa that once belonged to a Russian prince in Blevio, right opposite the Clooneys’ house. And he has a passion for the sculptures of Giuseppe Penone (which he would like to display in his garden).
THE DISTINCTIVE FEATURES OF MY STYLE
The first aspect of my style is my beard care routine. I shave every morning with a straight razor and have always used Chanel’s Allure aftershave, which I used to buy even when I was young and short of money. When it comes to fashion, I prioritise comfort and simplicity: classic, comfortable shoes with thin laces, which I polish myself – J.M. Weston, Church’s and Tod’s in dark blue suede. Two years ago, I discovered Fratelli Rossetti’s suede loafers. And I’ve given up on lace-ups (Allure, 100 ml, 75 euros, chanel.com; J.M. Weston, 890 euros, eu.jmweston.com; Church’s, 1,050 euros, church-footwear.com; Tod’s, 690 euros, tods.com; Fratelli Rossetti, from 300 euros, fratellirossetti.com).
THE LAST ITEM I BOUGHT AND LOVED
I bought my children some coloured leather-lined shoe horns from Larusmiani (the ‘Firenze’ model, 245 euros, larusmiani.it).
