Medicine: the new Mood platform is now online ahead of the open semester

The new free Mood web platform is now online, designed to provide students preparing for the open intake for Medicine, Dentistry and Veterinary Medicine with useful content and tools to help them find their way and prepare for their studies.

Developed in collaboration with thefaculty, the Mood platform offers over 100 hours of free theoretical, preparatory and subject-specific videos covering the syllabus for Physics, Chemistry and Biology – the subjects of the Open Semester – created by lecturers who collaborate with Mood. Students also have access to the app, available on mobile and PC, which offers an adaptive study plan, updated according to each student’s progress, as well as mind maps and flashcards to consolidate knowledge, subject-specific practice exercises, mock exams and practice exercises with thousands of annotated questions, including both multiple-choice and fill-in-the-blank questions, as well as gamified versions featuring comparative leaderboards.

The new page, which can also be accessed via Universitaly, makes it easier to browse the available resources. Mood is a project involving 44 Italian universities, funded by the Ministry of Universities and Research (MUR) and promoted by the Permanent Conferences of the Heads of Medicine and Surgery and the Heads of Dentistry and Dental Prosthetics. Thanks to its collaboration with its technology partner, thefaculty, the project aims to provide students with free support throughout the entire process – from guidance to preparation – to help them gain entry to degree programmes in medicine and dentistry.

This initiative complements other initiatives promoted by the Ministry of Universities and Research, such as the platform developed by CRUI and CISIA, with a view to making the ‘Open Semester’ programme increasingly accessible, well-structured and tailored to the needs of those preparing to undertake it.
