Teacher on Onlyfans reaches agreement with kindergarten

Suspended, then sacked because of Onlyfans, Elena Maraga, the 29-year-old teacher of a Catholic parish nursery school in the province of Treviso, finally reached an agreement with the school on the termination of her employment, effective last April. This was announced today by the school's lawyer, Lucia Riedi. "The institution," adds the lawyer, "reiterates that it has never made any statement on the matter, nor any comment that might have called into question Ms Maraga's work at the school.
After five years of teaching on a permanent basis, Maranga had seen her contract terminated because her management on the Onlyfans adult platform profile conflicted "with the Catholic inspiration that guides the school's educational direction".
"As an educator," the teacher had explained, "I have never let the children or the school lack anything. Her story, which had become a case, also in the media, had created controversy and divided public opinion. The Fism - the federation of Catholic schools - had announced that it was already at work to produce a code of ethics for teachers to avoid 'behaviour contrary to the educational pact'. While the president of Più Europa, Matteo Hallissey had spoken of 'a textbook case of hypocritical moralism' and had emphasised that Elena Maraga 'was not fired for having done her job badly - there is no dispute about that - but for having broken a social taboo: the idea that a woman can be an educator and at the same time master of her own image and sexuality'. As soon as the story emerged, some parents also supported her, for whom the 'outside' occupation had no influence on her educational activity.
