Philharmonic Orchestra Open Rehearsals kick off at La Scala
Pianist Beatrice Rana on Italian tour; cellist Mario Brunello reopens Antiruggine in Riese Pio X
Beatrice Rana, one of the best today, after the success of the tour in Asia with the Orchestra di S. Cecilia is off on another, which takes her all over Europe, including four dates in Italy: in the great theatres of Milan, Rome, Naples and also in L'Aquila. In Milan, the Philharmonic Orchestra inaugurates the 15th Open Rehearsals, in support of social causes. In Riese Pio X, near Treviso, the great cellist Mario Brunello reopened Antiruggine.
Milan
On the 19th at La Scala the Philharmonic Orchestra Season kicks off, conductor Riccardo Chailly, with pianist Alexandre Kantorow; music by Prokofiev (the Concerto No. 3) and Tchaikovsky (Symphony No. 4). On the 18th at 7.30 p.m. open rehearsal in favour of the Giulia Cecchettin Foundation and in support of affectivity education projects, in response to the emergency of gender violence. Part of the tickets for the open rehearsal will be reserved for those sections of the population least exposed to cultural opportunities. From 22 February to 25 October, four more Philharmonic open rehearsals will be held to support Milan-based non-profit organisations committed to combating educational poverty. This is the 15th edition of the Open Rehearsals, which have generated concrete resources for the Third Sector; awarded the Ambrogino d'Oro of the City of Milan for their civil and artistic commitment. The entire proceeds of the Open Rehearsals are donated to the beneficiary organisations, supporting numerous social causes: from care for children and the elderly to the fight against poverty, from assistance for the disabled to scientific research and projects for young people and the suburbs. The famous Singing Recital Season opens on 25 January with tenor Juan Diego Flórez - the last time, in 2023, there were nine encores; we will see if he breaks the record.
