Orsini: 'The Intesa-Unipol operation on Mps is good for Italia'
The leader of the industrialists: 'I see it positively because it confirms that the ongoing evolution of the banking risk is looking at operations that strengthen the solidity of banks and increase their capacity to finance business, innovation and development, as well as preserve the savings of Italians'
"I see it positively because it confirms that the ongoing evolution of the banking risiko looks to operations that strengthen the solidity of banks and increase their ability to finance businesses, innovation and development, as well as preserve the savings of Italians". Confindustria chairman Emanuele Orsini thus responded on the sidelines of an event in Modena on the operation launched by Intesa Sanpaolo and Unipol to acquire 100% of Mps. "Italia - adds Orsini - needs solid intermediaries, rooted in the country and with a strongly national shareholder base, capable of competing at European level and accompanying our companies internationally. If implemented well, these aggregations can create value for everyone in our country, provided that the banking system's ability to accompany business investments and support the growth of the real economy is preserved and further enhanced'.
