The meeting with the Minister for Enterprise and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso, was 'certainly a positive meeting. Today we talked about the country's industrial policies, but also about European industrial policies' focusing on the competitiveness of Italian companies. This was said by the president of Confindustria, Emanuele Orsini, after the meeting with Urso at Palazzo Piacentini. "Several chapters were discussed, obviously Transition 5.0, on which there was a great expectation and some adjustments will have to be made and a permanent table, let's say, in the continuity of the measure," Orsini continued, pointing out that "we need to act quickly to put it on the ground as soon as possible. Among the topics discussed, continued the Confindustria president, was the housing plan, "which is the project that we need, we need to attract workers from other cities in the country and from abroad, because today it is irrefutable that there is a lack of personnel for our industry, our companies". Furthermore, 'we talked about raw materials, artificial intelligence, we talked about European industrial policy, so competitiveness, energy, nuclear power'.

"In September, resumption of dialogue on measures to support businesses"

.

"In September we will resume (the dialogue) in order to construct measures that are of help and support to companies." Emanuele Orsini, president of Confindustria, also talks about the dialogue with the government in view of the upcoming budget law. "The things we have discussed today will obviously also go towards the manoeuvre reasoning that we will in any case resume when we return from these two weeks (of Ferragosto), even if there is no stop."

"There is concern about the situation in Germany and geopolitical conflicts"

"Today it is obvious that we are concerned about some countries like Germany and geopolitical conflicts." According to Orsini, in the face of such scenarios, 'we need to ground some measures, such as the Transition 5.0 that is fast, but above all measures for the country's competitiveness because we are a great exporting country but in this context it is not easy to grow', emphasising that 'we need to be always competitive in order to continue to be an excellence considered by the whole world'.

"Cars, in favour of foreign manufacturers in our country"

.

"We are obviously in favour of other foreign car manufacturers, so let there be Chinese manufacturers coming to our country. The important thing is that our automotive supply chain is used, which is recognised throughout the world as an exceptional supply chain of excellence'. These were the words of the president of Confindustria, Emanuele Orsini, on the sidelines of the meeting held at Palazzo Piacentini. 'I welcome the fact that there are also other manufacturers and I believe that this ministry is moving towards that path'.

Stellantis, Urso: no clash with government, we want to find a shared path

With Stellantis 'there is absolutely no clash but a common will to find a shared path'. This was the assurance given by the Minister for Enterprise and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso, on the sidelines of the meeting with the president of Confindustria. The shared path that Urso is aiming for is also 'with the trade unions and with the regions and companies in the automotive supply chain that are the strength of our country to increase production levels in the vehicle, car or commercial vehicle sector in our country, also because here we have the ecosystem that is extremely favourable to the production of globally competitive vehicles'. And, continued Urso, 'we want to go down that road together, obviously first and foremost with the only car manufacturer, that is Stellantis, in our country, and we already indicated this path more than a year ago, and with stubbornness, perseverance and determination we want to complete it'.

"With Orsini we agree on the importance of having nuclear power"

.

'We are both convinced that it is necessary to combine renewable energy with advanced third-generation nuclear power, which can be realised in Italy with Italian technology'. This was emphasised by the Minister for Enterprise and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso, in highlighting the same view on the country's energy policy. 'The energy issue is the foundation of a sound industrial policy and of the competitiveness of the entire country system. More and more renewables, alongside nuclear power, are the solution,' stressed Urso.
