An interview with the president of Confindustria, Emanuele Orsini, face to face with the director of Sole 24 Ore, Fabio Tamburini. Once again this year, the conclusion of the Trento Festival of Economics is entrusted to a reflection by the number one of the industrialists on all the topics that emerged from the four days of debate. On the table, the most immediate economic news, starting with duties, which for an exporting country with Italy are an element of great concern, in an unstable geopolitical situation that generates uncertainty. The hope, urged by Orsini, is for a European negotiation, to be implemented as soon as possible, and enlargement to new markets, from Mercosur to India and the Emirates. There are many factors that penalise the Italian and European economies: the priority for the business world is energy, because Italy suffers from a price trend that is also double that of other EU competitors. For Orsini it is necessary to put industry at the centre, with a three-year plan to relaunch investment. Action is needed in Italy and Europe, with a Green deal to be implemented within the appropriate timeframe and by reducing the EU bureaucracy that bogs down companies and exacerbates costs.
