Roman greetings in Predappio, some thirty identified
The usual rally, organised by the great-grandchildren of the Duce, was joined this year by Forza Nuova, with its leader Roberto Fiore
More than a thousand - 700 according to the Questura - demonstrators took part in the morning of 26 October 2025 in the walk from the square in Predappio, Benito Mussolini's hometown on the Forlì hill, to the San Cassiano cemetery for the commemoration of the March on Rome. In front of the Duce's crypt, the Roman greetings returned after years. Despite the invitation, also today, from the Mussolini family to put their hand over their heart, a few dozen demonstrators raised their outstretched arms after the 'present' ritual. The usual rally, organised by the Duce's great-grandchildren, was joined this year by Forza Nuova, with its leader Roberto Fiore.
There were about 30 - according to the Questura - Roman greetings at the San Cassiano cemetery, in front of the crypt with Mussolini's remains. The perpetrators of the Roman greetings, Resto del Carlino and Corriere di Romagna report, have been identified by the Digos and their position will be investigated by the Prosecutor's Office.
The deed with which the Questura in recent days had ordered Forza Nuova to demonstrate from 3 p.m. in Predappio, and not from 10 a.m. with the procession traditionally organised by the Mussolini family, 'is non-existent' in that it bears 'an expired digital signature'. This is why Fn members took part in the procession to the Duce's crypt in San Cassiano this morning. This was explained by the lawyer from Forlì, Roberto Minutillo, who had been instructed by Fn secretary Roberto Fiore to send the Questura the notice of demonstration.
Fiore himself arrived in Predappio in the morning, but in the piazza he had a brief conversation with Digos leaders and in the end decided not to participate in the walk to the crypt. This year, much more than in previous years, the presence of agents with mini cameras to film and document everything was evident.
The parade, from Predappio to the cemetery, went quietly, without any particular episodes. Not even obvious symbols referable to Forza Nuova. Black was the predominant colour, as usual, many shaved heads but also families, with a few children, the Arditi and combat associations' banners.
