Six million investment for an expansion of the production area of Paglieri, a Piedmontese company from the province of Alessandria, which aims to consolidate its presence in the territory and bet on a market attentive to quality and sustainability, strong of an important history in the sector of hygiene products - body care, laundry and home care.
The three-year plan
The plant that has just been inaugurated is part of the broader investment plan that the Paglieri Group has planned for the period 2024-2027, for more than 50 million euro destined for growth, innovation and sustainability projects. "The decision to invest in enlarging the production area," explains Debora Paglieri, CEO of the company alongside Fabio Rossello, "stems from the desire to transfer in-house and control a series of production processes that were previously outsourced, in order to guarantee maximum quality.
The issue of sustainability is at the heart of the development and consolidation plan of Paglieri, which two years ago acquired a neighbouring factory where bottles and packaging are produced. "In this way we have optimised time and travel, reducing the environmental impact," Debora Paglieri points out. "We want to carry on the tradition of a Made in Italy capable of striving for excellence in all sectors, so much so that our standards are close to those of the pharmaceutical industry," stresses Rossello.
The investment involved an area of about 500 square metres characterised by very high-tech plants, thanks to which Paglieri is increasing its production capacity to 280 thousand kilos per day. Last year, the company hired 37 new profiles, among them some strategic insertions in the Legal and Human Resources sector, and this year it expects to grow further from the current 250 employees.
The territory nodes
.The Paglieri plant is located in southern Piedmont, on the border with Lombardy, in an area that has many problems, from hydrogeological risk to the lack of infrastructure, starting with energy. "We reasoned that this industrial district is in danger of being forgotten. If there is a Mezzogiorno in the North, then politics must take charge of investing to support companies,' Rossello reiterates. The three-year plan, explains the CEO, will take the company to the maximum expansion possible, 'then we will not be able to do anything else in this area and, if necessary, we will have to open plants in other areas,' Rossello points out bitterly.
