Campus Bio-Medico: Paolo Palazzo and Federica Colzani appointed as the new presidents of the University and the Polyclinic

Paolo Palazzo is the new president of the Campus Bio-Medico University of Rome, whilst Federica Colzani is the new president of the Campus Bio-Medico University Polyclinic Foundation. The two appointments were made official today following the resignation of President Carlo Tosti, who stepped down from his dual role after leading the two organisations for almost five years. This decision has led the Campus BioMedico’s governing body to take the organisational step of appointing two separate presidents for the University and the University Hospital, which will continue to work in close synergy in terms of vision, planning and operations.

“We are honoured by the trust placed in us and delighted to be able to serve these two institutions, guided by a long-term vision rooted in those shared values that serve as the guiding principle of our mandate,” commented the two new presidents, Palazzo and Colzani, who then added: “With passion, commitment and a sense of responsibility, we shall set to work immediately, alongside all our colleagues, to ensure that the University and the Campus BioMedico Polyclinic continue to place students, patients and their families at the heart of every activity and project.”

Paolo Palazzo, a law graduate of the Catholic University – according to a press release – began his career as a solicitor specialising in civil and company law. He is a Founding Partner of a coaching firm specialising in the development of managerial skills and has been working for almost 20 years as an Executive Coach certified by the International Coaching Federation (ICF) and the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC). In his work, he supports managers and C-level executives across various industrial sectors. For the past three years, he has been president of the Campus BioMedico Association.

Federica Colzani holds a degree in Philosophy from the Catholic University and a PhD in Institutional Communication, Relational Assets and Work-Life Balance. She has twenty years’ experience in coordinating training projects and researching the governance of institutions and non-profit organisations. She is active in associations dedicated to social promotion and cohesion, the training of social and healthcare workers, and community-based welfare. Since 2024, Colzani has also held the position of vice-president of the Campus BioMedico Association.

Furthermore, Giorgia Zecchel has been appointed Vice-President of the Campus Bio-Medico University of Rome. Zecchel is a professional in Human Resources and Organisational Development, with over twenty-five years’ experience in developing human capital, fostering organisational growth, and defining governance strategies and frameworks. A law graduate from the University of Milan, she has held senior roles in strategic and organisational management within the business, voluntary, academic and non-profit sectors. The University and the Campus Bio-Medico Polyclinic – the statement concludes – “express their heartfelt thanks to Carlo Tosti for the passion with which he has led the two institutions and for his dedication over the years, which have seen the establishment of the Policlinico Foundation and significant development in university, clinical and scientific activities, whilst extending their sincerest best wishes for his future”.
