It has been raining in Paris since last night, but the triathlon races are taking place. The Seine is no longer as polluted as it had been until yesterday. After the water quality meeting held at 3.30am this morning, World Triathlon representatives and their technical and medical delegates, Météo France, the city of Paris and the prefecture of the Ile-de-France region involved in carrying out the tests, have in fact confirmed that the women's and men's triathlon competitions in Paris 2024 will take place as planned today starting at 8am and 10.45am respectively.

"The results of the latest water analysis, received at 3.20am, were assessed as compliant by World Triathlon allowing the triathlon competitions to take place," reads the statement issued by the Games organisers.

Triathlon training in the Seine had all been cancelled, and even the race, scheduled for yesterday, had been postponed until today, forcing athletes to dive into the river that runs through the French capital without ever having been able to test its waters in training.
