A 'rather major' fire is underway at the Hotel Bristol in Paris, one of the capital's most prestigious five-star hotels, just a few metres from the Elysée Palace.
The hotel management confirmed that 400 people were evacuated and three were reportedly slightly injured. Only one was entrusted to the care of doctors who rushed to the hotel with ambulances.
According to agreed information, the flames started in the kitchens, in the basement of the hotel: 'All employees and customers have been evacuated according to procedures,' they assure the Bristol, 'everything is under control'.
Located on the elegant rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, on the pavement in front of the Elysée Palace, a few metres from the Presidency of the Republic and the Place Beauvau, seat of the Ministry of the Interior, the Bristol is one of the most frequented hotels by show business stars passing through Paris. It belongs to the German-born multinational Oetker.
