Lawyers at school to become specialists in tax law, thanks to the two-year course promoted by Uncat. The Alta scuola di formazione degli avvocati tributaristi (High School for the Training of Tax Lawyers) has been authorised to issue the specialisation title at the end of the two-year course, as the training programme has been recognised by the Ministry of Justice in line with the parameters of Decree 144/2015 on specialisations.

The two-year course in 'Tax, Customs and International Taxation Law' for 2025-2027 will start in October; applications must be submitted online at the Uncat Training website, from 1 September and by 15 October.

"The school," explains Gianni Di Matteo, Uncat president, "is a fundamental element in the prospect of training fellow tax lawyers capable not only of competing on the market but also of guaranteeing the adequate tax protection of citizens and businesses with all the new institutes brought into play by legislation.

The title of specialist lawyer (and registration in the relevant lists) in tax law, customs law and international taxation will be awarded at the end of the course with the passing of the final examination.

"The Uncat School," explains director Massimo Ferrante, "will be a workshop where participants can learn how to use the tools necessary for practising as tax lawyers. Emphasis will be placed on the practical aspects and on the teachers' professional testimonials so that participants can learn the 'trade' of tax lawyer'.

The Modalities

The course has a duration of 24 months with a total of 269 hours, 245 of which are lecture hours. The course is unique for the entire national territory and will be held in presence with an interactive videoconferencing system that guarantees the possibility of interaction from all locations with the lecturer present in one of them. Lawyers registered with the Bars and Law Societies may enrol, with a maximum of 50 participants per venue, and law or economics graduates, limited to the number of places available.

TheHigher Education course is promoted by the Uncat school in agreement with the Bar Councils of Rome, Milan, Palermo, Catania, Lecce and the Universities of Catania, Salento and Teramo. The school is present throughout the country. In previous editions, the school has been held in Agrigento, Ancona, Bari, Bologna, Cassino, Catania, Florence, Foggia, Genoa, Imperia, Lecce, Milan, Naples, Padua, Palermo, Parma, Pisa, Pordenone, Potenza, Rome, Reggio Calabria, Sassari, Taranto, Turin and Verona.
