The second edition of the Summer School in Luxury Tourism of the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore will take place from 15 to 19 June 2025. It was born from the collaboration between OTG, the Observatory for Tourism on Lake Garda, and Terme di Sirmione and will have Lake Garda as its location. A training activity, unique in its kind and location, which intends to encourage meeting and specialisation in the field of tourism economics.
The partnership between Terme di Sirmione and Università Cattolica is being consolidated and enriched. In fact, in the joint plan there are new courses aimed also at the personnel of the Brescia-based company: training appointments that are part of the Terme di Sirmione Academy programme.
A joint effort aimed at developing specialised skills that are increasingly in demand in the hospitality, wellness and spa tourism sectors, helping to strengthen the sector's competitiveness at national and international level.
The second edition of the Summer School will be preceded by two training sessions aimed at the spa company's employees. A training path that, starting from the historical roots of tourism on Lake Garda, will reach the digital and ethical challenges of the present, offering Terme di Sirmione employees a complete and in-depth vision of the sector.
On 26 November 2024 Maria Paola Pasini, a researcher in economic history and lecturer in the history of tourism and marketing of the territory and SMEs at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, will speak on the theme "Dalla Belle Époque all'Intelligenza artificiale: One hundred and fifty years of the history of tourism on Lake Garda", while on 26 February 2025 Giovanni Gregorini, director of the Department of Historical, Philological and Social Sciences at the Cattolica University and director of the OTG research centre, will develop the theme "Between ethics of responsibility and culture of development", crucial issues for a sector such as tourism, which must evolve towards more sustainable and responsible models, overcoming the tendency to underestimate compliance aspects.
