Profits exceeding 13 million euros, passengers amounting to over 4.8 million and the first sustainability report. On the horizon is the project still on the table for the creation of the single company with F2i for the management of the three Sardinian airports. The shareholders' meeting of Sogaer, the Cagliari Elmas airport management company, gave the go-ahead to the 2023 financial document and, for the first time, to the sustainability report, which provides information not only on economic performance, but also a non-financial account of the choices made by the Group with respect to relevant environmental and social issues, as well as on the use and distribution of resources.

First Sustainability Report

"The document has been drawn up on a voluntary basis, in order to progressively align with what will become mandatory starting from the 2025 financial year, when the provisions defined by the Csdr for large companies will come into force,' the group said in a note. The airport is committed to the development of more sustainable solutions for an ever greater integration with the territory, as well as to the implementation of technologies for reducing emissions. Positive data and signs of steady growth also for the coming months.

Single Management

.

While Cagliari is already looking ahead to the summer season, the game is still open regarding the project for a single management of the three airports, with F2i Ligantia as the protagonist, controlled by the F2i Sgr fund and participated by the Fondazione di Sardegna. The objective is to maximise passenger traffic, which, overall, will exceed 12 million with the inclusion of Cagliari airport. The project, launched when the boards of directors of Geasar and Sogeaal, the management companies of Olbia's Costa Smeralda and Alghero's Riviera del Corallo airports, gave the go-ahead for the birth of the new Nord Sardegna aeroporti, is currently only half-finished, since Cagliari is still missing from the list. The path to its completion, however, has begun.

The Council of the Cagliari and Oristano Chamber of Commerce, which holds a majority stake in Sogaer, has activated the procedures, and the binding opinions have also arrived, but the update of the appraisal report (which expires after a few months) is still missing. The operation, which envisages a capital increase by Ligantia F2i reserved for the Chamber of Commerce, should be estimated at hundreds of millions of euro, and does not envisage any disbursements because the capital increase will be freed up by transferring the shares held in Sogaer. Then comes the next step, which involves changing the company name of F2i Ligantia and transferring its headquarters to Cagliari. The three concession-holding companies will continue to operate under the new entity, which will be controlled by the Chamber of Commerce, the Fondazione di Sardegna, F2i and Black rock. Final closure is estimated within the year.
