New rules for issuing passports. According to the new provisions of the State Police, from December the traditional postal payment slip will be archived, replaced by digital and traceable payment instruments through the PagoPA platform. This step is part of the broader process of modernising public services, in line with the public administration's digitalisation objectives.
The amount increases by 20 cents
The amount of the payment slip for issuing an ordinary passport increases from EUR 42.50 to EUR 42.70. Basically, citizens will be able to make the payment at a post office or at the counters of banks, which have subscribed to the passport payment collection service via PagoPA, or at payment service providers (usually operating at tobacconists' and receivers' shops).
It will also be possibleto pay from home through the online platforms of the operators themselves (Post Offices, Banks and service providers). At the time of payment, it is necessary to provide the operator, or enter in the case of payment made online, the name and tax code of the person for whom the passport is being requested, even if the person is a minor.
