Patron of TelePordenone killed with bars. Investigators: 'No hypothesis excluded'
Mario Ruoso, 87, was found dead this afternoon in his home in Porcia (Pordenone). The body, which was found by a nephew, had a deep head wound, and was near the front door
A well-known Pordenone businessman, 87-year-old Mario Ruoso, was found dead in his home in Porcia (Pordenone) this afternoon. The body, which was found by a nephew, had a deep head wound, and was near the front door. "Mario Ruoso was killed with a blunt instrument to the head," said Pordenone prosecutor Pietro Montrone, leaving the victim's home at the end of the inspection with the forensic police. According to Ansa from informed sources, the man was allegedly bludgeoned to death.
The reconstruction of what happened was made thanks to the inspection of the corpse carried out by the forensic doctor Antonello Cirnelli, who took over three hours before reporting back to the investigators, who accompanied him for the findings. On the outcome of the investigation there is the utmost reserve: the only thing that has filtered through from investigative circles is that it was a particularly violent death. According to Ansa, the murderer repeatedly ravaged the elderly businessman's body and investigators are not ruling out any hypothesis. Testimonies from neighbours and co-workers were collected - the house is located opposite the car dealership owned by the victim - but so far no significant elements have emerged. The nephew - who found the corpse - went to the house after many vain attempts to contact Ruoso on the phone.
Mario Ruoso is known for being one of the first Friulian entrepreneurs to invest in the private television sector and to found one of the oldest TV stations, the historic TelePordenone, which closed two years ago after decades of intense activity. A knight of labour, the elderly entrepreneur was the owner of one of Friuli Venezia Giulia's longest-running vehicle dealerships.
