Patuelli (Abi): banks are healthy, but past results are not necessarily repeated

Italian banks filed positive results in 2024 and 2025 and are 'solid and healthy' but 'it is not a given that this will be repeated in 2026' given the changes in the European and international economic situation and rates. Thus the president of the ABI, Antonio Patuelli, during a seminar. The ABI chairman recalled that 'the Italian banking sector is today, on the whole, very solid, particularly lively and competitive' but 'the international economic situation is changing'. Banks, Patuelli recalls, continue to play their role in supporting the economy without hesitation.
