The time has come: after numerous nominations he has received over the years, for Best Picture, Best Director and Best Screenplay, this year Paul Thomas Anderson absolutely must raise his first statuette for that masterpiece 'A Battle After Another'. It is not only a fitting recognition for an extraordinary career (from 'Magnolia' to 'The Hidden Thread', via 'The Petroleum Tanker' and 'The Master', the great films he has directed cannot be counted) but the right award for the perfect direction of any component of a film destined to remain in the history of cinema.
