Pensions, with the December cheque also the additional amount and the fourteenth month: who gets it

The maximum additional amount of EUR 154.94 was paid together with the December pension instalment to over 400,000 pensioners.

The Inps message emphasises that the benefit is granted to holders of social security pensions with a total amount not exceeding the minimum treatment and who are in certain income conditions. The annual value of the pension must not exceed the limit set for 2025, which is equal to the annual minimum treatment of €7,844.20, which, including the additional amount, rises to €7,999.14.

The total individual income limit is 11,766.30 euro, the family income limit is 23,532.60 euro. For pensions managed in the integrated systems, payment is made on a provisional basis at central level, pending final income verification. For pensions managed in the proprietary systems of the Public Management and ex Inpgi, payment is made by the territorial structures of the Inps, after verification of the existence of all requirements. In the case of pensions with inter-annual effective date, the additional amount has been allocated in twelfths and the income limit has been related to the months of pension receipt. In the case where a pension with an inter-year effective date is combined with another pension with an earlier effective date, the amount has been attributed in full, if due, considering the annual limits.

Also paid with the December 2025 instalment was the additional sum for the second year 2025 instalment, the so-called 'fourteenth month'. For the month of December, 149,580 pensioners benefited from it (148,291 pensioners from the Integrated Management and 1,289 from the Public Management proprietary systems). The fourteenth month was paid with the December monthly payment to pensioners who reached the age requirement for access to the benefit (64 years of age) in the second half of 2025 or who, without prejudice to the age requirement of 64 years of age, became pensioners during 2025.

In addition, the positions that had already been discarded with the centralised processing for the July 2025 instalment due to the absence of a declared income for at least the year 2021 were re-processed. The positions of persons for whom the conditions for entitlement to the benefit ceased to exist during the second half of 2025 were checked. In this case, a special notice will be sent by Inps and the recovery will be made in 12 instalments starting from the first useful instalment.
