Until 13 April, on the occasion of the Salone del Mobile and Fuori Salone, Hello Kitty fans will have the opportunity to dive into the world of the Japanese kitten thanks to the collaboration between the Indian brand Péro and Banner, a boutique on Via Sant'Andrea in Milan's fashion district. The shop will host the PÉRO X HELLO capsule for spring-summer 2025 in an immersive showcase, an authentic window on the world of the character born 50 years ago in Tokyo.
Not only clothes and accessories
.The world of Péro and Hello Kitty comes to life in the boutique from today through playful textures, colours and handcrafted details, inviting those who pass by via Sant'Andrea (and then enter Banner's) to a multi-sensory experience: to complement this immersive journey into the colours and craftsmanship of Péro, Vicook, the Cerea family's catering brand, will present a menu of Hello Kitty-inspired delicacies. "Marrying culinary artistry with the extravagant charm of the collection, each creation will offer a taste of nostalgia, playfulness and indulgence, making the showcase a true feast for the senses," promises the presentation released these days.
The Magic World of Péro
.Launched in 2009, the brand Péro, which means 'to wear' in marwari, a dialect of Rajasthan, draws inspiration from ancient crafts from all over the world, not just India, to create unique collections. Born in New Delhi, Péro makes garments for men, women and children (chota péro or small péro) and home furnishings. Recognisable from season to season, yet always unexpected and handmade, Péro, founder Anneth Arora likes to say, is based on a mosaic of childhood nostalgia and above all love. The love for craftsmanship, especially textiles, remains a pillar of the brand, which retails in 35 countries through 350 shops.
An encounter with the magical world of Biffi
.Banner is part of Biffi Boutiques, a company founded in the second half of the 1960s by two sisters, Rosy and Adele Biffi, who opened the first boutiques in Milan and Bergamo, offering not only fashion and luxury brands, but also an innovative vision, born from continuous international research. Today, the Biffi Boutiques group has several shops, three of which are in Milan (Biffi Boutiques Milano and Biffi B-Contemporary in Corso Genova and Banner in Via Sant'Andrea), together with the e-commerce project biffi.com. Banner in particular was designed by Gae Aulenti and is developed on several levels, embellished with works by contemporary artists and designers. Through numerous collaborations with up-and-coming designers, luxury brands, architects and young creatives from the world of design, Biffi Boutiques is a point of reference in multi-brand retail in Milan and Italy.
A collection that brings joy
The Hello Kitty capsule includes dresses, jackets, shirts, trousers, knitwear, bags and other small accessories, on which appear cherries, strawberries, apples, but also creamy cupcakes, milk cartons and, of course, Hello Kitty herself. Everything has been created through Péro's stylistic vocabulary and from fabrics and techniques typical of the brand and the personality of founder Aneeth Arora. Enriching the garments and accessories are pendants, socks, hats and rumals (handkerchiefs). For prints, the choice fell on, for example, delicate Japanese flora and solid sailor stripes, and decorations play with embroidered beads, fabric origami, tassels, handmade crochet, appliqués, patchwork and custom-shaped wooden buttons. The fabrics of the season include Chanderi from Madhya Pradesh, Mashru from Gujarat, gabardine and silk taffeta from South India and light, transparent strips woven in Benaras. In addition, there are linen and gauze-like fabrics with contrasting selvedge and Jamdani, developed in collaboration with weavers from West Bengal. Crochet is an important part of this capsule as it is of the entire Péro world, in which, like every season, old-school techniques are given a new interpretation.
