A strong international vocation, with 85% of turnover generated abroad, thanks to a strategy based on a direct presence in key markets, through subsidiaries and production facilities.

The Persico Group is a mechatronics company based in Nembro, in the province of Bergamo, which makes high-tech moulds and systems, mainly for the automotive, medical and aerospace sectors. With a turnover of more than 245 million euros in 2024 and 850 employees worldwide, it is one of the Italian leaders in the sector and well represents the characteristics of innovative and export-oriented companies in Lombardy, as Claudia Persico, Vice President and Rotational Director of the group, who leads the company together with her siblings Alessandra (Vice President and Automotive Interiors Director) and Marcello (Vice President and Marine and Aerospace Director), explains.

"We are present with operations in the United States, Germany, China and Mexico, as well as Italy, where our main production base is located," explains Alessandra Persico. "In the United States, in particular, we have been active for more than ten years with a plant in Michigan, dedicated to the automotive sector, but with a growing interest in aerospace, and one in Minnesota, focused on rotomoulding. The subject of tariffs is therefore of great interest to the company, even if the direct production presence in that market should allow it to contain the impact of protectionist policies. "However, if the new tariffs are confirmed at 30%, we will expand our production capacity in the US," she explains.

The group has also been gearing up for some time to consolidate other markets, particularly in Mexico, although the United States remains, and will remain, a strategic market in which the Persico Group will continue to invest, tariffs or no tariffs. Even as far as the aerospace sector is concerned, "we will not be found unprepared," says Marcello Persico: "We already have the skills to bring value directly to American territory, even in highly specialised fields such as aerospace. We are already redesigning our industrial presence to turn constraint into strategic leverage.
