With an entrepreneurial history that dates back to the 1500s, and a banking business that started in the 1800s, it is not surprising that at Sella the orientation is to do things with foresight. It is with this spirit that Maurizio Sella, born in 1942 and president of Banca Sella Holding since 2000, has decided to change the top box. In his place, the board of directors, at the proposal of Sella himself, has appointed Giovanni Petrella, dean of the Faculty of Banking Sciences at the Cattolica University in Milan, a figure of standing as well as a profound connoisseur of the group.

Sella, who was also appointed vice-chairman of the parent company on his input, will retain the chairmanship of Banca Sella and Banca Patrimoni Sella. For the banker, a long-standing supporter of the principles of sound corporate governance, it was "the right time" for the changeover "without diminishing my contribution to the group's present and future growth and governance: every company adapts over time to changes and must anticipate them with foresight and prudence".
