Pettenon Cosmetics with Ogyre to save the oceans
Pettenon Cosmetics, a Benefit company, announces its partnership with Ogyre, the Italian start-up committed to safeguarding the oceans through its global Fishing for Litter platform.
A symbolic and concrete choice at the same time: Pettenon Cosmetics, an international leader in professional hair care for almost 80 years, confirms its ethical vision as a company, capable of combining innovation, quality and environmental responsibility. With this project, the company further extends its commitment to sustainability, extending it to the protection of biodiversity and the fight against plastic pollution.
The partnership with Ogyre foresees the collection of more than 88,000 kilograms of marine waste over 24 months, equivalent to 5% of the total Plastic Footprint of Pettenon Cosmetics.
The waste is collected directly from the fishermen during or as an alternative to normal activities at sea, brought ashore, accounted for and sent for recycling or sustainable disposal, in compliance with local regulations. All stages of the project are monitored and tracked using blockchain technology, ensuring maximum transparency and allowing the environmental impact generated to be measured in real time.
