Pfizer: Q3 net profit falls by 8 per cent to 3.24 billion, but the company raises its 2026 guidance
Diluted EPS remains stable at $0.87
(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - The multinational pharmaceutical company Pfizer ended the third quarter with revenue down slightly to $16.58 billion (compared with $16.65 billion in the third quarter of 2025) and net profit down 8% to $3.24 billion. Diluted EPS fell by 9 per cent to $0.56, whilst adjusted diluted EPS remained unchanged at $0.87. Pfizer reports that “third-quarter revenue was broadly stable on an operational basis compared with the same period last year. Excluding the contributions from Comirnaty and Paxlovid, revenue grew by 7 per cent on an operational basis”.
At the same time, the US group has announced an upward revision to its revenue forecast for the full year 2026 of $1.5 billion on average, bringing the range from between $60.5 billion and $62.5 billion to $62.0 billion–$64.0 billion. The forecast for adjusted diluted earnings per share for the full financial year 2026 has also been raised, with the range narrowed: the new target is set at a range of between $2.95 and $3.05, compared with the previous range of between $2.80 and $3.00. The improved guidance takes into account “our strong performance since the start of the year, continued confidence in our business and the progress made with our ongoing cost-saving initiatives”.
