Police: dispute over daughter’s custody
“According to the information gathered so far, the motive appears to be linked to a dispute over the custody of a daughter”. This was stated by Kathrin Schuol, of the Lüneburg police department, regarding the shooting in Stade, Lower Saxony, in which six people were killed.
“The perpetrator had an appointment today with many of the victims to discuss the future custody of his three-month-old daughter, who was in the facility with her mother at the time of the incident. Both were unharmed and are not among the six victims,” Schuol went on to explain, adding that “the baby has been taken into the care of the relevant authorities, whilst the mother is currently in police custody and is being questioned”.
