Summer dinners

It is the wine of the summer, to be chosen also for the colour nuances that match the sky at dawn and dusk, and summer clothes. Three are the official nuances, according to the Sommelier Association's tasting card: soft pink, cerasuolo, claret. In reality, there are a thousand nuances to be guessed in the glass, from coral to salmon to onion skin, just as there are many interpretations of rosé, from the more ethereal to the more structured wines that almost play with the scents and body of reds. Wines for hors d'oeuvres or for the whole dinner, to be served chilled, yes, but never chilled, so as not to lose aromas and complexity: the ideal temperature ranges from 10 to 12 degrees. Here are some suggestions for summer dinners.

Soft French-style colour, juicy nose of currant, pomegranate, strawberry and flowers, it has a fresh, savoury finish. A curiosity: the wine has inspired 'Le cene di San Greg', a multi-year project to create a network of visionary chefs, who bring their point of view - innovative, sustainable, enhancing the territory and raw materials - around Italy, inspiring guests and the press.

It is a Provençal-style rosé, with notes of pink grapefruit, apricot, chamomile and herbs, on a brackish background. It is perfect if you love gastronomic rosés, excellent as an aperitif but versatile enough to accompany a summer lunch of prosciutto and melon, salads and capresi, savoury pies and panzanella, but also shellfish au gratin, seafood risotto, classic spaghetti allo scoglio or a baked fish.
