Key points
Pirelli announces the start of production of the Cyber Type in Georgia, USA. It is a decision that reinforces the brand's commitment to the United States, especially in terms of both product and industrial strategy. The Pirelli plant in Georgia is dedicated to technologically advanced solutions for the American market in both the High Value and Motorsport segments, and will be strengthened through the production of connected tyres equipped with Cyber Tyre technology. The announcement also consolidates the Pirelli Group's industrial and technological presence in the United States.
Cyber Tyre is the first hardware and software system in the tyre industry
Pirelli Cyber Tyre is the world's first hardware and software system capable of collecting data and information from sensors in tyres, processing them with Pirelli's proprietary software and algorithms and, by dialoguing in real time with vehicle electronics, creating new functions integrated with driving and control systems, as well as integrating with connected infrastructures, in order to improve the driving experience and increase safety levels. In an advanced market like the US, Cyber Tyre technology represents a distinctive advantage for Pirelli.
The site in Georgia is the most advanced of the Pirelli group in the United States
Further confirming the role of the technologically advanced production site, the latest evolution of the MIRS (Modular Integrated Robotized System) process, the Pirelli Group's most advanced manufacturing process for high-end products available only at the US plant, is in the final stages of industrial validation. The MIRS, already digitised, further enhances robotized production capabilities, increasing productivity, flexibility and quality and allowing a direct link between design and its industrial development.
The factory specialises in High Value tyres in North America
Such a development can only be part of the Pirelli Group's industrial development plans in Georgia and contributes to further strengthening its presence in the United States, one of its most important and strategic markets.
