Pirelli strengthens its commitment in the US. Cyber Tyre produced in the USA
Production of connected tyres equipped with the group's state-of-the-art technology channelled to the plant in Georgia
Pirelli reinforces its long-term commitment to the US by channelling the production of connected tyres equipped with Cyber Tyre technology to its plant in Georgia, already dedicated to the most technologically advanced solutions for the US market in both the high value and motorsport segments.
This development, Pirelli explains, confirms the strategic importance of the United States in the group's global growth path, consolidating its industrial and technological presence in the country. The announcement comes on the occasion of Pirelli's participation in the most important event promoted by the US Department of Commerce, the SelectUSA Investment Summit, where the Cyber Tyre system was presented as a key innovation in defining the future of smart mobility. "The start of Cyber Tyre production at our Rome, Georgia plant represents a significant milestone for Pirelli in the country and reflects our commitment to bringing advanced technologies like Cyber Tyre closer to the market, further strengthening our industrial presence and innovation capabilities in the United States," said Claudio Zanardo, ceo of Pirelli North America. Pirelli Cyber Tyre, recalls the Bicocca-based group, is the world's first hardware and software system capable of collecting data and information from sensors in tyres, processing them with Pirelli's proprietary software and algorithms, and - by dialoguing in real time with vehicle electronics - creating new functions integrated with driving and control systems, as well as integrating with connected infrastructures, in order to improve the driving experience and increase safety levels. In an advanced market like the United States - where smart mobility and digital solutions are expanding rapidly - Cyber Tyre technology represents a distinctive competitive advantage for Pirelli. At SelectUsa, the note goes on to say, Cyber Tyre featured prominently on the Georgia stand, a particularly significant participation in light of Pirelli's industrial presence in the state, where the group has had roots for more than 20 years.
The Georgia plant - specialised in the production of high value tyres for the North American market - also houses a dedicated research and development centre, which further strengthens Rome's role in technological development and product innovation.
