Plastic rubber, environmental services and car hire renew contracts: increases from 200 to 250 euro

In the past few hours, the contracts of the plastic rubber workers were renewed, who got a total increase of 204 euros, the environmental services workers who got a 250 euro increase and thus withdrew their strike planned for today, and finally the car rental workers who got a 200 euro increase.

The Plastic Rubber - Electrical Cables Confindustria companies overnight signed with the trade unions Femca, Filctem and Uiltec, the hypothesis of agreement for the renewal of the labour contract for the 165,000 employees that was due to expire at the end of the year. The renewal, reached ahead of the natural expiry date, will be valid for the three-year period 2026-2028 and will affect 3,680 companies operating in what is the fourth largest manufacturing sector in the country.

The agreement provides for an overall increase, the Tec, of 204 euros over the three-year period. On the minimum, the Tem, the increase will be 195 euros at reference level F and divided into four tranches: 60 euros in January 2026; 60 euros in April 2027; 60 euros in April 2028; 15 euros in December 2028. The amount during the period of validity will be EUR 4,350. To this amount must be added the 9 euros (+0.44%) on the pension contribution of the Plastic Rubber Fund to be paid by the companies.

The regulatory part of the new contract strengthens industrial relations, with the strengthening of the national observatory, which is also committed to the impact of artificial intelligence on employment and health and safety and transitions. Training has been defined as a strategic lever for competitiveness, maintaining employment levels and managing transitions: on this chapter, the strengthening of the National Bilateral Body has been envisaged, which will have the task of enhancing good corporate training practices and promoting synergies between companies, schools, universities and institutions. Twelve hours of individual training are envisaged at the companies' expense for the duration of the contract. With regard to gender policies, the EU and national legislation of the EU directive 2023/970 on equal pay for men and women will be analysed, monitoring the evaluation systems on pay transparency. Also following the joint declaration of 25 November, on combating gender-based violence, the text introduces new measures for female workers who are victims of violence and are included in certified protection pathways: an increase of three months, in addition to what is provided for by law, of the period of paid abstention from work in the protection pathway, the maintenance of the company contribution to the health fund for 12 months, facilitated access to agile work, and reintegration training pathways. On these issues, 4 paid annual hours of specific training are confirmed for everyone. The contract also provides for measures in favour of inclusion and gives greater centrality to health, safety and the environment with the establishment of the Joint Committee and the institution of the national sector day. Finally, provision has been made for updating the classification system, consistent with the new profiles.

The 100,000 employees in the environmental services sector will receive an overall increase of 250 euros: in fact, an agreement has been signed for the renewal of the national collective labour agreement for environmental services between Utilitalia, Cisambiente Confindustria, Lega Coop Produzione e Servizi, Confcooperative, AGCI and the sector's trade unions Fp-Cgil, Fit-Cisl, Uiltrasporti and Fiadel. The agreement averted the strike called by the category for today in extremis and provides for an overall increase (TEC) of 250 euros on the average parameter of 130.07 euros for the three-year period 2025-2027, consisting of minimum increases of 202 euros (in addition to the 15 euros already paid in July 2025), welfare measures for a further 15 euros and 18 euros for the financing of the result bonus.
