Polestar 4 SUV: more practicality and technology

Polestar aims to build on the success of its best-selling model, the Coupé 4, with the new 4 SUV version, which boasts greater space and practicality. The SUV version not only offers a larger boot, but also the latest technology and a redesigned rear window. The range, meanwhile, mirrors that of the Coupé, with rear-motor and dual-motor variants producing 200 cv, including the 544 cv Performance model. The 100 kWh battery guarantees a range of up to 630 km for the rear-motor version and 600 km for the dual-motor version. Fast charging has a maximum power output of 200 kW. The new 4 SUV is the same length as the Coupé, at 484 cm, whilst it is 2 cm taller, at 155 cm.

The removal of the coupé’s characteristic sleek roofline and windowless rear end gives the 4 SUV a more conventional look, but the digital rear-view camera remains, albeit as an optional extra. The camera is positioned beneath the rear spoiler, allowing the rear windscreen wiper to clean both the rear window and the lens. At the front, behind the bumper, new components ensure a cleaner design. The benefits are evident in terms of practicality: the much more boxy rear end of the 4 SUV provides a boot that is much more versatile when loading compared to the Coupé. There is space for four large suitcases.

With the rear seats folded down, the 4 SUV’s load volume is 1,665 litres, compared with the Coupé’s 526 litres, plus the 15 litres in the front storage compartment. The technological updates to the 4 SUV, apart from the more customisable home screen, do not alter the car’s digital layout, which remains based on the 15.4-inch touchscreen. The new features, however, relate to both the software and Google Gemini Artificial Intelligence, which enables more natural voice commands as well as controlling the car’s functions, including searching for directions with a preference for charging points. The new technology in the 4 SUV will be rolled out to the 4 Coupé via over-the-air updates.

The Polestar 4 SUV is also fitted with springs and shock absorbers with specific settings to ensure superior handling in all driving conditions, whilst the various 21- and 22-inch wheel designs contribute to the new SUV’s sporty appearance. The Polestar 4 SUV will be available from €56,000 for the Rear Motor version and €63,000 for the Dual Motor version. The top-of-the-range Polestar 4 SUV with the Performance Pack costs €74,000. The car is manufactured in Busan, South Korea, where production began in the second quarter of 2026. The first deliveries to customers are scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2026.
