Polestar, relaunch plan kicks off: four new models in three years
The Swedish brand of the Chinese Geely Group is aiming to expand its current offering with the goal of increasing sales in double figures as early as the end of 2026. For the first time, production will also start in Europe after China and the USA, with clear competitive advantages.
Polestar has announced a product offensive that will see the launch of four new models over the next three years. This will result in double-digit volume growth and a network expansion of 30 per cent. The Swedish brand of the Geely Group, a former Volvo rib, will now produce in Europe and not only in China
Here are the four new models coming
By 2028 .Polestar will unveil four models to extend the current range. Already this year the new Polestar 5, a four-door Grand Tourer (GT) unveiled in 2025, will be launched next summer. At 5.1 metres long and 1.42 metres high, it has a Cx of 0.24. There is no rear window replaced by a digital rear-view mirror and the cabin is minimal. An upgrade that guarantees a higher level of performance in driving dynamics thanks to the PPA platform.
New Polestar 4 increases versatility.
Also later this year, Polestar will introduce a new variant based on the same architecture. The new 4, not surprisingly, is currently the brand's best seller as it offers the same space as a station wagon, but also the versatility of an SUV. The aim of the new 4 is to raise the bar even higher by offering even greater versatility. Launch already scheduled for late 2026 for deliveries estimated in the fourth quarter of 2026.
Scheduled to arrive in 2027 is the new 2 sedan
The new generation of the model that effectively launched the Polestar brand worldwide, the 2 saloon will be a completely new successor when it goes on sale almost certainly in early 2027. The 2, with over 190,000 units sold, represents the hard core of the brand's sales, and with the new model on its way it expects to do the same. It will be joined by the 3, which has been upgraded to 800 V architecture with charging times reduced by up to 25 per cent.
The Premium 7 SUV will be produced in Europe
The new model enters for all intents and purposes the sector of more compact premium SUVs, which last year accounted for a third of total battery car sales. Polestar's goal is to offer an evolved model as well as being competitively priced thanks to production in Europe, which will guarantee transport costs that will be reduced very significantly. Finally, the launch of the new Polestar 7 has already been scheduled for 2028.
