Leone in Camerun, l’appello contro i «capricci di ricchi» e il nodo della crisi anglofona
dal nostro corrispondente Alberto Magnani
Over 1,500 square metres on three floors, in Piazza della Scala, next to the prestigious opera house and opposite the Milan City Council headquarters, right in the city centre. Here will find space and expression not only for Poliform's collections but also, above all, its vision, its design concept and its philosophy of life.
A philosophy which, explains the company's new CEO Marco Spinelli, aims to make Poliform an increasingly global brand open to contaminations from other worlds, such as art, culture, fashion and food.
So, here is the choice of Palazzo Trussardi, where the Brianza-based furniture company has opened its new Milanese flagship shop (which will replace the historic shop in Piazza Cavour) to strengthen its link with the city of Milan, its history and culture. In fact, it was here (before it was acquired by Trussardi) that the Hotel Marino stood, where the artists who had to perform at La Scala used to stay.
The official inauguration will take place during Design Week, with the opening of the shop to the public, which will house the brand's collections, while the new products will be presented at Palazzo Clerici: for the first time, in fact, the group will not be taking part in the Salone del Mobile in Fiera Milano.
The restyling project is signed by architect Stefano Belingardi Clusoni, who has transformed the building into a refined and cosy environment where the living, kitchen and sleeping areas are integrated, although each floor has a specific focus (the ground floor to the living area, the first floor to the kitchens and the basement to the sleeping area).
