Online gaming: Polymarket remains blocked – the Lazio Regional Administrative Court has rejected the site’s urgent appeal

Polymarket remains blocked in Italia. The Lazio Regional Administrative Court has rejected the urgent appeal lodged by the prediction market platform, which sought to suspend the order under which, on 10 July 2026, it had been added to the list of sites banned by the Customs and Monopolies Agency. Polymarket has been inaccessible since 27 July. The news was reported by the specialist news agency Agipro. The appeal had been lodged by companies associated with the platform: Blockratize, Inc. and Adventure One Qss, Inc.
Extremely urgent
However, this does not amount to a complete rejection by the Lazio Regional Administrative Court, which did not rule on the legality of the ADM’s decision but merely deferred its assessment.
As the judge explains in the order signed by the President of the Fourth Ter Section, the case ‘warrants thorough consideration by a panel of judges’ and, for this very reason, it will be examined by the full panel of judges in chambers on 25 August.
According to the Court, the requirement of extreme urgency was not met for an immediate suspension of the Adm order to be granted. Until the panel meets on 25 August, therefore, the leading international prediction markets platform will remain blocked in Italia.
Agipro points out that the website being taken offline led to the almost immediate termination of the three-year sponsorship agreement with the Serie A football club S.S. Lazio, although Polymarket will still pay the club a portion of the sum stipulated in the contract.
